CCC Gene Expression Facility provides full service for Cancer Center investigators who wish to use Affymetrix GeneChips to study gene expression profiles. The service includes RNA isolation, RNA qualification using Agilent 2100 BioAnalyzer, target preparation, hybridization, array washing, staining and scanning, data extraction and initial data analysis, and quality control throughout the process. Data extraction, pair comparison between experimental and control condition, and initial data filter will be performed using Affymetrix GeneChip Operating System (GCOS) 1.1 and Affymetrix Data Mining Tool software (DMT 3.1). Faculty in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Group are available for more in depth data analysis and consultation concerning experimental design. To obtain high quality data, discussion with a biostatistician is highly recommended.
